"Midnight Blue" Volume One Wraps

Midnight Blue Wraps

Exactly four weeks after cameras first rolled, principal photography stopped on the web series about an amateur crime-fighter.

Metres from where we began, a diminished cast and crew shot Matthew Turbett's final scenes for Volume One of the series.

It has not been a smooth ride, with two weeks being lost to Matt's other commitments, Sam still working on feature film All About Town, and the series' star fracturing his finger in an oven-related mishap.

The first week of the shoot was all but rained off, with the schedule having to be revised daily to make use of what we could get. By the end it was a bit of a sprint to the finish with both cast and crew were feeling the effects of shooting for thirteen hours the previous day.

The series has benefited from the generous help of several local companies and businesses who have kindly made their facilities available to us as locations, and tolerated our bizarre intrusion with good humour!

Though this marks the end of Matt's involvement with this Volume of the series, there are still some scenes to shoot, set in a news room, and one or two cut away shots to be picked up.

If all goes according to plan, the series will premiere online in the middle of the autumn (2nd November 2015) with new episodes being released fortnightly thereafter on the Midnight Blue area of the Mainspring website.
